When is Dune: Part Three?
Date: Friday, December 18, 2026. Status: Confirmed by Warner Bros. and Legendary. When we last checked, on October 12, 2026, that was 67 days away, about 9 weeks, with roughly 49 weekdays in between.
What we know
Dune: Part Three opens in theaters and IMAX across North America on Friday, December 18, 2026, with international releases starting from December 16. Denis Villeneuve wraps up his trilogy by adapting Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah.
Details worth knowing
Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya return, and Robert Pattinson joins the cast, along with Florence Pugh and Anya Taylor-Joy. Villeneuve shot heavily for IMAX again, so if you're going to splurge on one premium screen this year, this is a good candidate.
Our take
It's a head-to-head with Avengers: Doomsday on the same weekend. If you want both, I'd do Dune first in IMAX and the Avengers on a standard screen, or the other way around depending on what you can book. Rewatching Part One and Part Two before going helps; together they run about five and a half hours.
How to get ready
For opening weekend, buy tickets as soon as they go on sale, especially for IMAX and Dolby screens. Weekday matinees are cheaper and quieter if you're not desperate to see it on night one.
Dates for entertainment and sports events can move. We only list dates that have been officially announced or reported by reliable outlets, and we say clearly when something is a rumor. If a date changes, this page gets updated.
